Arch. Recto graces FEU Commencement ExcercisesRenowned architect Philip H Recto has urged graduates to have the 3 P’s: Perseverance, Passion and Positiveness as they embark on the next step of their life’s journey.
In a speech before graduates of Far Eastern University-Institute of Architecture & Fine Arts and Institute of Education held at the historic FEU auditorium recently, Arch. Recto recounted the difficulties he experienced while starting his practice and how he persevered. He also urged the new graduates to do everything with a passion for excellence and enjoined them to maintain a positive attitude at the workplace, think positively and hold a positive outlook in life.
He mentioned that the Philippines is a very young country with 57% of the entire population below 24 years of age. This is a great potential as a growth engine for our country’s development. Our country also has a pool of skilled and talented workers especially in Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sectors. He also cited the annual Philip Recto awardees whom he facilitated to work abroad who were highly praised by their foreign employers. To the young graduates he said, "You are nuggets of gold prized by foreign employers all around the world!"
Recto also encouraged the new graduates to make good use of the internet to offer their services and capabilities to the whole world.
